I create work during times while my child sleeps, primarily during the midday nap. During this nap-length studio time I use materials on hand, including my clothing and nursing pads, combined with additional elements of embroidery or paint. I use these materials to explore the maternal body, breastfeeding, and the emotional and physical changes that occur throughout the process of being the mother of a young child.
